BLOOD TESTING
At GoVet, we provide blood work testing to detect diseases early, to increase llife span and improve quality of life. We have a range of blood work panels to choose from depending on the age of your pet, and any health concerns you may have with your pet.
Our lab, allows us to perform the following tests to evaluate your pets health:
A CBC or chemistry profile can be performed separately, although recommended to do together as this, alongside a thorough physical examination and medical history, enables your veterinarian to obtain an overall idea of your pets health status. After this, your vet can decide if further tests are necessary.
FECAL TESTING
FECAL FLOTATION
Fecal Floatation is one method of diagnosing infections with intestinal parasites, such as hookworms, whipworms, and roundworms. A small amount of fecal matter is examined for evidence of eggs from these parasites. These parasites are passed from one animal to the next in their larval-form, via fecal-oral route. This means, when your dog or cats mouth comes into contact with these larvae they are ingested, where they the become adultand then passed in there feces. These worms, although different in there own way, draw nutrients from your pets, effecting there overall vitality.
NOTE: Hookworm eggs can be passed to humans through broken skin, causing a skin disease, aka, Cutaneous Larva Migrans.
FECAL CYTOLOGY
Fecal cytology is a diagnostic method, using microscopy to diagnose abnormal bacteria in fecal matter. This may be performed if your pet has diarrhea.

- CBC (complete blood count): Measures red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets. Can help to determine hydration status, anemia (low red blood cells), and infection/inflammation.
- CHEMISTRY PROFILES: Measures certain enzymes and chemicals to determine organ function and health, particularly of the liver, kidney and pancreas. As well as, blood glucose and electrolytes. We offer wellness, comprehensive and surgery profiles depending on your pets requirements.
- URINALYSIS- this along side blood work can help to determine kidney function as well as infection, inflammation and presence of crystal or casts in the urine.
- RAPID TESTS- Tests for specific diseases, such as Heartworm or Tick Fever.
