SPAY & NEUTER

What is Spaying and Neutering?
A Spay (aka, ovariohysterectomy), involves the removal of the ovaries and uterus in a female.  Neutering  (aka. castration), is the removal of the testicles in a male.

Why Spay or Neuter your pets?
We recommend Spaying and neutering your pets
to increase their life span, minimize risks associated with certain cancers of the genital organs, reduce or prevent learned, unwanted behaviors such as aggression, urine marking, to prevent potent urine odor associated with male cats, prevent straying of male dogs (in search for females in heat) and to avoid unwanted litters.

At GOVET, spay and neuter procedures are available.  This procedure is performed under general anesthesia within our mobile unit. Your pets safety is important to us, hence strict monitoring of your pets vital parameters throughout the procedure. Your pets will then remain with us for a post operative recovery period, before going home. All anesthetic procedures require blood work before hand to rule out any underlying disease and to ensure safe anesthesia.

To find out more regarding these procedures call or email, or you may schedule an appointment online.

We hope to see you soon.
